What Scientists Have to Say

The transcriptome provides closer access to the real biological status of the tumour cell, in contrast to the more ‘static’ nature of DNA. The parallel analysis of gene expression, fusion detection, variant calling, tumour signatures, and much more, possible with one library prep and starting from three to five FFPE tissue slices makes the RNA exome kit a promising assay for future-proof implementation into our clinical routine.

Twist Target Enrichment technology is a robust workflow allowing us to accurately analyze patient samples with more than 80 fusion variants in a high-throughput lab workflow.

FAQ

The Twist RNA Exome is a Target Enrichment which provides a reliable tool for generating transcriptome sequencing data from RNA extracted from a variety of sources including FFPE. RNA Exome increases the signal while requiring fewer sequencing reads for the same number of genes detect. Additionally, the RNA Exome’s “exon-aware” design approach leaves open the ability to detect isoforms and junctions that may otherwise get lost with typical design approaches.

The depletion module is designed to work with blood containing samples or otherwise samples which may benefit from the removal of contaminating rRNA and globin.

The FFPE repair module is an optional included step in the library preparation which aids in decrosslinking of DNA from formalin fixed making those sequences more readily available to participate in the subsequent library generation.

Yes, Twist’s expert bioinformatics team can create panels to across many different organisms, such as microbes, or for a variety of applications.
