Development of an Anti-idiotypic Antibody to a Visterra Biomolecule

ABSTRACT

As a focus of recent pharmaceutical efforts, fully humanized antibodies created a new challenge for assessing drug pharmacokinetics. Anti-idiotype antibodies offer the ability to accurately detect therapeutics in human samples and characterize the presence or magnitude of an anti-drug antibody response. This thesis details the immunization strategy for a therapeutic-specific anti-idiotype, and the selection of a top candidate informed by antibody characterizations. The anti-idiotype candidates were evaluated for suitability as a critical reagent in pharmaceutical bioanalytical assay designs.
