ABSTRACT

With the rapid development of technologies such as big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain, users are developing increasingly stronger demands for high-performance, high-capacity, and high-reliability data storage. This shows how it is crucial to explore new storage technologies to fulfill these demands. This chapter focuses on the trends of storage technologies in new storage models, non-volatile storage systems, and application storage optimization and introduces cutting-edge technologies such as flash storage system, near-data computing, persistent memory, in-network storage, intelligent storage, edge storage, blockchain storage, separated data center architecture, and high-density new storage.
